GRL SWM

GRL SWM is a women-only swimming platform that empowers women by providing a safe and engaging space to learn how to swim from beginner level onwards. Their brand thrives on a cool, trendy, and community-led approach, with an emphasis on fast-moving, high-energy marketing.

My role was to develop a strong visual identity that captured the brand’s unique energy and ensured its marketing materials remained engaging, aspirational, and cohesive.

Building on strong foundations

To align with GRL SWM’s fast-paced promotional style, I focused on creating bold and adaptable visuals that could be easily deployed across digital and print platforms. The branding needed to feel modern, inclusive, and impactful, while maintaining a sense of exclusivity and urgency for their limited-capacity classes.

Problem:

  • GRL SWM needed a recognisable and cohesive visual identity.

  • Their class promotions required fast and effective design execution.

  • The brand needed to maintain aesthetic consistency across multiple platforms while staying fresh and engaging.

Process

The final design assets included:

  • Social media content tailored to engage their community and build excitement.

  • A campaign video (shot & edited by me) to enhance brand storytelling.

  • Class posters that visually reinforced the brand identity while maintaining a fresh aesthetic.

  • A cohesive marketing strategy, ensuring assets were instantly recognisable and consistently high quality.

Collaborating with the internal team

Throughout the project, I worked closely with GRL SWM’s founders to ensure the visual identity aligned with their mission and connected with their audience. This involved quick turnaround times, adaptability in design execution, and a strong understanding of community-driven branding.

Solution:

  • Designed high-energy, eye-catching visuals to elevate brand recognition.

  • Shot and edited a dynamic campaign video to showcase their impact.

  • Created flexible but distinctive assets that could be quickly adapted for marketing needs.

  • Ensured the branding remained modern, inclusive, and community-driven.

Outcome

The final outcome of the GRL SWM project was a bold, energetic, and engaging visual identity that effectively captured the brand’s spirit and connected with its audience.

  • Increased brand recognition through consistent, high-impact visuals.

  • The campaign video strengthened engagement and storytelling.

  • The class posters and digital assets helped drive sign-ups and community interaction.

As a result, GRL SWM saw a boost in community engagement, visibility, and brand loyalty, reinforcing its position as an empowering platform for women in swimming.
