This project involved creating a bold and expressive visual identity for D.L. Roelen, a brand known for its avant-garde approach to fragrance. My role encompassed branding, graphic design, product photography, and the development of social media assets to craft a cohesive and impactful presence across digital and print platforms.
The goal was to establish a visual narrative that reflects the brand’s rebellious yet sophisticated personality, merging high-fashion aesthetics with unconventional elements. Defining the Visual Identity
The branding process began by establishing a bold and expressive visual language that captured the essence of Roelen Perfume. Through a combination of experimental typography, layered graphics, and a balance between raw and refined aesthetics, I developed a cohesive identity that was applied across product packaging, promotional materials, and digital content. The visual system was designed to reflect the brand’s unconventional yet sophisticated approach to fragrance.
Product Photography & Art Direction
The product photography aimed to highlight the textures, mood, and character of Roelen’s fragrances. By experimenting with light, composition, and abstract elements, I created immersive imagery that emphasised the unique personality of each scent. The photography was carefully curated to align with the brand’s artistic storytelling, ensuring that every shot felt bold, high-fashion, and evocative.
Social Media & Marketing Assets
Beyond the physical branding, I worked on developing digital and social media assets to establish a strong online presence for the brand. These included campaign visuals, motion-based content, and promotional graphics that maintained a consistent and recognizable aesthetic. The designs were crafted to engage audiences while reinforcing Roelen Perfume’s modern and rebellious brand identity across different platforms.
